MARK SIMPSON - Exhibition

Born in 1960 Wairoa, Visual Arts has been a largely self-taught journey, Mark came to know that he is what he is by the mercy and grace of God. That didn’t come cheap. 

He has had a focus on portraiture as well as our environment, that also serves to tell a story. Mark is also a musician/singer and makes musical instruments also.

Having satisfied the qualifications requirements to gain a Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation and completed all requirements for Grad in Applied Theology, he found himself working in Dementia Care as a therapist for about twelve years and is now in the disability field. An advocate and artist, Mark has sought to incorporate the arts and singing into the care of people he supports.

Mark believes life is full of transitions and calling.

Mark has had many exhibitions throughout the years as well as commissioned work, including illustrating for CBM (Children's Bible Ministries) and Christian Education Commission. He has exhibited as a local in Artex National Exhibition and several times at the Arts Inc. - Hastings Arts Centre.
