Sculptor Profile
John Woodham
Blue Tetrahedron, Repurposed fibre glass
Chain Tree, Welded chain, distressed railway sleeper
John Woodham constructs large, often kinetic, multimedia sculptures from recycled, discarded and found material. He is inspired by the creative possibilities of what he finds and will sketch out several possibilities before selecting the one that most excites him. His work has been described as surprising, impressive, whimsical, other-worldly and curious.
The works are made from an eclectic range of materials. From helicopter blades, frost protection blades, agricultural discs, fibreglass pool panels, balls, stainless and cortex steel.
His work is not representational and the artist enjoys people's individual and interesting responses to it.
