Artist Profile
Diana Bacchus
"Inspired by nature and landscapes, my semi-abstract oil paintings are my conversations with colours, where I aim to achieve harmony and balance.
I paint in my home at Havelock North, attend a weekly art group and have been guided by local artists. In the late 1960s I became interested in Art History and watercolour painting while attending Emerson College, Sussex, England - but only since my retirement from Kindergarten teaching has oil painting, with an emphasis on colours, become my passion.
Pablo Picasso once said 'Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life'. This captures how I feel about the artistic process and the importance of art."
