Ken Nysse
I love the outdoors and visit the Hawke's Bay beaches and Ruapehu ski fields as the weather allows, but through these journeys, I am presented by the most amazing landscapes and colours. My paintings are based on self-taken photographs that are a valuable reference, back in my studio.
I paint primarily in acrylics and have dabbled in oils and in some instances, I have added other media such as sand, stones or woven paper/flax to create texture and interest. Also having a mathematics background, I am detail orientated and incorporate the 'golden ratio' into my compositions to helpful make my paintings more pleasant to the viewer's eyes
