'A New Dystopian World' - NATACHA RIOU
Self-proclaimed 'hopeless romantic' and French artist Natacha Riou never would have imagined herself living and working as an artist in New Zealand.
Now though, she teaches art from her Hawke's Bay studio, exhibits and commissions work.
'A New Dystopian World' incorporates a range of materials such as plaster, paper and natural materials to achieve a 3D mixed-media effect, showcasing something different from every perspective. Often, the final artwork is the result of destroying and deconstructing multiple experimental art pieces and building from its parts.
In chaos, there is always order. Sometimes even beauty. This exhibition explores that.
