'LAND AND AIR' - Don Wilkie

Don is a self-taught artist working in oils on canvas or linen, and drawings in graphics, and started painting during the Summer of 2012-13.

He has exhibited throughout New Zealand and sold works in Australia, America, Great Britain, United States and New Zealand.  Many of these have been commission works which included a large work going to a museum in Norway. 

Initially specialising in aviation, he has expanded to include Nature, Landscape and Portrait works.

Don has also been involved in helping publish a number of history books alongside publishing two of his own history books - ‘Port to Port’ a pictorial book on Ahuriri Napier and ‘Forgotten Heroes’ the history of the No489 (NZ) Torpedo Squadron.

He is in the process of writing his third book which is another pictorial history of the Napier’s CBD.
