'MAURI TOI' - Iwi Toi Kahungunu

This exhibition honours the mauri — the vital life force — that has carried Iwi Toi through a decade of creativity, connection, and resilience. Each artwork becomes a living pulse, an expression of the collective energy that has been held, shaped, and ignited by our artists across ten years.

Mauri Toi speaks to identity, wairua, community, and whenua, allowing artists the freedom to reflect on the many ways life force is nurtured and sustained. It is a theme that invites performance, sculpture, sound, and visual art to move together, weaving an energetic and symbolic reflection of who we are and what we carry.

At its heart, this kaupapa connects to wellbeing. Just as mauri sustains life, Iwi Toi sustains the creative spirit of our people, offering space to heal, to celebrate, and to envision the next decade.
