WHISPERS OF NATURE

This exhibition explores Rose and Lexi's connection with nature.  It features three sections representing 'Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil', with both artists capturing nature's fleeting beauty before it vanishes due to human activity.

ROSE LIMBAGA

Rose Limbaga is a Filipino artist whose work explores the connection between humans and thee natural world.  With a background in environmental chemistry, her practise inspires here to create nature-based narratives into artworks that resonate enviromental awareness.  Through portraiture, clay, and painting, she brings together emotion and storytelling.

Whispers of Nature features a series from Rose inspired by the concept 'See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil'.  These artworks examine humanity's collective silence and complicity in the face of environmental destruction.  Rose invites viewers to reflect on the consequences of turning away from nature, from truth, and from one another.  Whether working in clay or on canvas, she aims to inspire connection and responsibility for the natural world.

LEXI KYE

Lexi Kye is a South African born artist.  As a health professional she believes in the power of creative expression in healing body and mind.  In her work, she seeks to explore working through darker shades and hues to appreciate the break through of light and colour.  In this body of work, she invites you to return to nature, to a moment of calm, a deep inhalation, a steadying pulse in an otherwise chaotic existance.

"The darkness for me is a safe space, it embraces my tears, hides my screams, softens my sometimes overly sharp tongue.  When I'm looking into the abyss and it's looking back at me I am understood.  It is a safe space for me to know my own heart.  Step into the abyss, listen to the silence and be comforted."
